Ulzzang

The ulzzang craze started in South Korea. Many ulzzang wannabes post up their pictures on various websites. They like popularity. They want to be appreciated for being pretty.

So the hair is usually natural, straight, layered. Makeup focuses on eyes. Ulzzang girls try to make them big and bright with the help of circle lenses, black and white eyeliner. Their skin is pale and they try to get it flawless. No lip color just lip gloss is used. They part their lips like ducks... So... To them taking pictures and posting them online is like a hobby...

Gyaru, Ganguro, manba, banba

You know the freakishly dark skinned Asians? No? Then here is some good info for you! =^.^=

Ganguro, manba, banba and gyaru are the stand out Japanese styles . There are MANY more. But those are the only ones I know  Some people are confused about those styles. So here is a tiny bit of info for your brain concerning Japanese style.

Ganguro - Ganguro girls have deep(VERY) dark skin. Of course some prefer it lighter. But the skin color stands out. They have bleached hair, white eye make up, white or pale pink lips

Manba - All of the above plus white stripe in nose. It's not that noticeable. Also they sometimes have colorful hair stripes, ribbons. Recently manba's have added more volume to their hair.

Banba - tanned skin, less makeup, much more natural hair.

Gyaru - Doll eyes, contact lenses, big, curly hair... Lot's of pink kawaiiness...

My Style

I don't have a style I concentrate on. I usually just dress by my mood. Comfort is also important to me.  I don't like pink. But I don't mind wearing it...

Colors I usually wear: Black, gray, white, blue. Although I really like to wear colorful tights, socks or leggings.

Usual hairstyle: I like my hair down since it's really straight and doesn't mess up too much. I also like doing 'Hime buns'. I wear ribbons and sometimes I like my hair in tiny waves.

Nail color: Either completely white, black, blue. Or I mix those colors and create colorful French tips.

Make up: Mascara and black pencil eyeliner only on my upper eyelid. and white on my lower eyelid. I HATE GETTING A TAN. So basically lot's of different colored eyeliner.

Accessories: I have 4 pierced holes in my ears. 2 in each ear. I like big earrings. I also have a necklace I never take off. Ribbons, BIG hair clips, hair bands with ribbons or just plain ones. I also love my aviator glasses and big sunglasses. Long over-knee or below-knee socks and scarfs are my

Patterns and fabric stuff: I love studs. They always give a metalic touch to my outfits. Lace, ruffles, stripes, checkers, plain fabrics... I also love tops with interesting quotes or drawings.

Shoes : Eehhh.... Shoes, huh? I like converse-like sneakers, *cough*rain boots*cough*...(o_~)... Hell... I hate uggs. They remind me of slippers.. Ugg-ly.

What's your style? =^_^=

Harajuku and Lolita girls

Both of these styles really interest me although I'm not going to try these styles. An entire outfit can cost about 300$!!! Sure is a high price to pay for beauty. I personally prefer Lolita's over Harajuku girls. Lolita's style feels a bit more mature(although Sweet Lolita's are supposed to be childish) and fashionable while Harajuku is more wild and miss matched. It's too much of a mess...

Harajuku girls above

Lolita's have some sort of sub-styles... I don't really know how to call them...

There they are:

Gothic Lolita or GothLoli ~~~~~~~~~~~~>

They keep the Victorian-ness of the Lolita style while adding a bit of darkness. They usually look mysterious and dark. Like scary Victorian dolls but they still look beautiful. The most essential GothLoli's trait is their white face and dark clothes.

Sweet Lolita or ama-Loli ~~~~~~~~~~~~>

They are basically trying to capture a Victorian child.  They do so by choosing girly, light and happy colors. Usually pink or white. Their main goal is to look "kawaii". They keep their make up bright and optimistic.

Classic Lolitas ~~~~~~~~~~~~>

Classic Lolita is a more mature style of Lolita that focuses on simple elegance. The colors aren't as dark as the GothLoli's but it's also not as kawaii as ame-loli. This style is much more simple.

Punk Lolita
~~~~~~~~~~~~>
I really like this picture. I think it's a bit more soft than the original Punk Lolita. Punk Lolita is much more wild and dangerous looking than the GothLoli. Although it resembles it a bit. Motifs that are usually found in punk clothing, such as tattered fabric, ties, safety pins and chains, screen-printed fabrics are included in the Lolita style.
There are many more sub-styles but these are considered the main ones. So which ones do you like? Which it your fave? ^_^
